11 June 2012
Lakes District

Me, me, me, most of today was all about me!  Those of you who know me won't find that surprising at all.  Kev & Karen didn't fancy seeing Beatrix Potter stuff so they went their own way today.  Maurice on the other hand had no choice but if you ask him he will tell you that he enjoyed it as well (unless you ask him at the pub in front of a heap of blokes then he may say differently).

We started the day at Hilltop which is the area where many of the scenes from Beatrix Potter books came from. Oh but first we had a beautiful lovely ride including the little ferry crossing.

I assume that you all know who Beatrix Potter is?
Just in case you don't she is, amongst a lot of things, the author of children's books including Peter Rabbit.  If you don't know who Peter Rabbit is I give up on you.

Me in Beatrix Potter's garden.

Me at Beatrix Potters door.

Me in her garden again.

Me at one of the location settings from her book.

Me with Mr McGregor.

 Doesn't he look happy?

Well after all that excitement we needed a cup of tea so we called into the tea rooms next door.

A lovely couple from Ridding Derbyshire took this for us.
The day actually wasn't all about me because after some more beautiful stunning scenery we some how just happened, quite by accident, surprisingly came across a motor museum.  Well of course we couldn't just ride by we had to go in!

Part of the Campbell's Bluebird exhibition.
A small part of their collection.
Maurice playing one of the old racing car arcade machines.
Seems I wasn't the only one to discover their inner child today!

After a big day out we met Kev & Karen at the The Packet Boat pub for dinner.  Ann-Marie & Eric are great hosts and we had a great night to top off a great day.
Yes more pickled eggs.

Anne-Marie & Eric.
